Wednesday, the Young Democrats of Missouri in conjunction with Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change in Missouri registered a total of 851 voters on campuses across Missouri. Students from over thirty universities, colleges and high schools participated in the Day of Action.
“We are excited about the over 800 newly registered young people in our state.” said Rick Puig, President of the Young Democrats of Missouri. “With that being said, I was even more moved to witness such a concerted statewide effort by our wonderful chapters and this revolutionary campaign.”
This statewide Day of Action grew out of a similar Day of Action at the University of Missouri – Columbia, which produced astonishing results as students registered 659 new voters on Friday, September 5, 2008. Wednesday’s unprecedented day of statewide activities was the first of what will be many statewide Days of Action activities sponsored by YDMO and the Campaign for Change. The next YDMO and Campaign for Change Day of Action is scheduled for Thursday, September 25, 2008.
